Pros

promotion from within to management was good. accountability of job performance was in place. great use of technology and logistics. good departmental training program available.

Cons

Drastic management schedule made it difficult to balance work & family. Mandatory working overnight was horrible during the holiday (six days 11 hr days). Quality of management personnel was poor. Associates were underpaid and overworked leading to poor attitude. Promotion was based on who you associate with and not by your integrity or intelligence. Open Door policy closed after Sam Walton passed away.

Pros

Good salary, PTO, total benefits

Cons

Working weekends and holidays. It can also be hard to get PTO dates approved, at time, despite submitting far in advance.

Pros

Advancement opportunities, great at developing skills, great place to learn a skill and grow your resume, or grow with the company.

Cons

Understaffing issues negatively affects all parts of their business. However, Walmart has increased their minimum hourly rate with hopes to attract more committed employees, and retain better employees.
