Pros
The lights in the office usually work. Thanks facilities!
Cons
Human Resources (HR) has significantly overextended its authority. From monitoring employee badge times to poorly negotiating health benefits, terminating employees without due process, hindering collaboration with other professionals, and prioritizing the human element of business over efficiency, HR’s actions have created a toxic work environment. Harassment and retaliation are commonplace, and employees are expected to constantly defend themselves (against HR) while HR remains protected and sheltered from accountability. Their tactics are detrimental and, unfortunately, effective in safeguarding their own interests. IT is overpromoted, understaffed, and lacks direction. Accounting is a highly exclusive department, where individuals are either accepted or excluded. Short of needing assistance, antisocial behavior is tolerated at best. Cross-functional relationships are strained due to the declining morale and inadequate communication. The company has a long and defined history, but it lacks the adaptability necessary to thrive in the evolving business landscape. It is likely to face significant challenges and potential decline in the coming decade.
