Pros
Pay and walking distance to downtown.
Cons
This is the worst place to work and very toxic. It's a start up company. Not the best benefits. The staff are racist and discriminative, I experienced undercover racism/discrimination. I worked here as a new hire a few years back while just starting my masters program, being the youngest, and a person of color. The HR seeked me out after I put in an application months before, he was very adamant on me for an interview. After I got hired(less than a year), the supervisor wasn't present to introduce herself to me, she was gone for two weeks. I did not receive formal training in a classroom environment, instead I was told to learn the job by my teammates who were 6 months or less in the job and the team leader who was doing the job of the supervisor. I was bullied, ignored, and treated unfairly especially from the supervisor who I believe was racist, the lead who was jealous and the rest of my team followed a suite, with nasty comments under their breath, mocking, laughter, and sabatoge(I wish I could go into more detail). They tired to make my work life miserable for me to quit, I should have went to HR to complain but never did. By the time the new year came around, they let me go, the supervisor and lead called me into the office without the HR and told me I wasn't able to do the job and learn quickly(that was their excuse), but it was more like sabatoge and discrimination was the real reason. The most appalling thing that made this whole situation worse was that fact the supervisor brought me a box she had been saving for me and packed my stuff and then told me as she walked me out the door that I should apply for health benefits since I'm unemployed. I moved on with life and have received my masters and working a government job in the field that I enjoy with no toxicity and with wonderful benefits and I am in peace and much happier. I never talked about my experience online about the company until now, because I was just reminded about it recently. I want everyone to know about Washington health benefits exchange in Olympia, WA is full of toxic staff that are racist and discriminative.
