Pros
The local community that WSUV has a duty to serve is incredibly diverse and culturally rich. Green space on campus
Cons
Student Affairs and Enrollment incapable leadership, only cares about churning numbers and posing black and brown students for photos. Abismal first year office. Nonexistent career services with a staff of one for the while student body. Lots of chancellors and assistant chancellors at the top; fewer actual student serving staff in comparison. Shameful use of federal grants intended to serve the most under resourced by using it as an enrollment funnel to their institution. Turn over has been in the 50-60% total division staff over the past 3 years. One of the worst places to work for your mental health. History of driving out female leaders of color. If you are taking a job with them to access benefits to pay for your next degree- don’t. I know NOT ONE staff that has successfully been able to access a program with their Ed benefits. A bunch of this and that program don’t qualify, oh that’s only offered in Pullman, even won’t let you use the benefit for online programs. Take your talents elsewhere. Wings clipped, new ideas are threats to them, don’t come here to get the golden handcuffs.
