Pros

Ultima Hospitality was a great company to work for, and I miss it! The Corporate team was very supportive to the property's needs and the company is run that of a family. The corporate team in Chicago was INCREDIBLE-- Every interaction was nothing but positive and encouraging! Being a small growing company, the team in Chicago truly cares about their hotel properties. If only they could instill their culture to the individual properties.

Cons

The property that I worked at had zero work/life balance, and the salaried department managers were required to work 80+ hours per week, and never appreciated or thanked for a job well done. (Which is the opposite of the hospitality industry!) The only thank you's you'll receive are from the corporate team, the rest of the time you will be put down, insulted and under-appreciated. Perhaps it was the stresses of the hotel management that caused the lack of appreciation and lack of thank you's, but it truly does affect the daily operations and happiness of the hotel team.

-Horrible neighborhood - Slap a bandaid on things without fixing it - No help from manager - Expect you to figure out - All problems , no help from manager - Turn over Rate is crazy
