Pros

after 1 full year of employment, wawa gives “employees ownership stock” which was awesome being i’d never been offered anything like this at any previous places of employment. Unfortunately due to a difficult pregnancy, I ended employment with Wawa just shy of 3 years and walked away with well over $2,000 in stock. definitely a huge help considering I was now unemployed and going to be welcoming a child soon.

Cons

main thing i disliked was how they’d pay new employees the same (IF NOT MORE) then the employees who’ve been with them for years. i remember during my 2nd year working there, i was asked to train a new employee and her mentioning how much she was making an hour, and it was $0.75 more then i was! it was definitely a punch to the gut and made me feel as though they didn’t value their employees, especially the ones who go above and beyond, the way they should!

Pros

Fantastic health and customer service standards If you have a good management team, everything goes smoothly and even when it doesn't they help you handle it If you negotiate pay before being officially hired, they are willing to negotiate Opportunity for growth Affordable benefits that are actually good

Cons

A LOT is expected from you, and if you don't negotiate for higher pay before being hired, or at the time of promotion, it can feel like you're being underpaid for sure. Just because you are on the same level as someone else, doesn't necessarily mean you will receive the same pay rate
