Pros
If you ask questions, someone will answer them. No matter what your position is, asking questions is never frowned upon. Everything is a potential learning opportunity. Initiative is everything, which is great if this is your thing. If you work in a warehouse, you have a large opportunity to make a big difference. If you're an associate, you work closely with upper level managers. If you're a part of management, you work closely with associates. If you work in corporate, the environment is very relaxed - especially if you're coming from a warehouse environment. It can be easy to get lost in the atmosphere. Generally speaking, management is very hands off. Work-life balance is fantastic. Of course, if you have kids, your expectations are a lot different in terms of how much time you should have to work. Flexibility is Wayfair's strong suit, however. You just need to be up front and honest about your schedule, while being realistic about your own capabilities and priorities. Great environment for new college graduates to learn business without too much pressure.
Cons
Everything I mentioned above might be a con to some people. It's all very dependent because it's such a large company. If your manager is prone to micromanaging, your experience might not be as great as one that fully trusts your ability to work. Here are a few other things that stuck out to me: Communication is greatly lacking among everyone. While you're able to see the path you can follow towards moving up, the expectations aren't very clear. From what I've seen, it's more of a matter of whether the position is open. As I mentioned in the "Pros," they're very hands off. While this means less micromanaging, it means you're provided with less instruction. This can be good, but if you don't know fundamental things about the business, you will invariably suffer in your performance. It's really important to ask questions. If you're soft spoken or are afraid of asking questions, you'll find yourself stuck in your position quickly. Compensation isn't really all that bad, but it's hard to get raises and bonuses.
