Pros
- Smart, hardworking, generally friendly coworkers - Free coffee, snacks, and beer - Great office location - Day 1 exposure to a lot of responsibility, helps young professionals get a lot of experience very quickly
Cons
- Middle management is terrible and your experience is wholly dependent on them. Most managers are completely lacking in experience, and will have been at the company for less time than their subordinates. They fail to offer any guidance or demonstrate actual leadership capabilities and tend to play favorites. - Career development (or lack thereof) is a joke. Path to advancement is purposefully vague and confusing. You will spend years in a position and be no closer to consideration for promotion than day 1. - Company is a revolving door, turnover is the worst I’ve seen anywhere. People generally spend 1-2 years here building their resume and then are out the door. - Expectation of results is completely unrealistic and pay does not at all reflect the demands of the job. - Very hard to achieve a work/life balance and still be successful here. You are expected to work much more than a 40 hour work week, even in entry level roles.
