Pros
When I started at Wayfair, the sky was the limit. It was a place of great thinkers, collaboration, and growth. The people I worked with in my immediate teams were wonderful, no matter what department I found myself in! Lower-level managers care about you as a person, peers collaborate and help each other out, and teams encourage big thinking. - Great benefits - Awesome parental leave - Nice PTO offerings, for L2+
Cons
The higher up in management you go, the less connected the leaders are to the employee experience. CEOs and upper management provide conflicting messages when it comes to the health of the company. They say the company is profitable and we're on the "upward track", yet lay off whole departments almost every Friday. There is a grievous lack of empathy around the culture of fear this creates within the company. This is not the Wayfair culture of a few years ago, this lack of empathy and extreme disconnect is new. - Forced a majority of the company to go remote during Covid and closed all sites but 2 in the US. Now forcing remote workers to return to the office or find other employment. - No internal growth opportunities for the last few years - People are now numbers, doesn't matter if you drink the Wayfair Koolaid - Reorgs happen nearly every quarter because of senior leadership leaving
