Pros

Interesting job. Interesting coworkers. Niche industry. Happy for the experience.

Cons

There's a lot of freedom and, therefore, personal responsibility. Spies are everywhere. Cameras are everywhere. Once you're targeted for poor behavior, they'll be on you like white on rice. They'll try to trip you up. They'll follow you electronically and physically. They'll suggest you go against policies or take advantage of the culture. They'll try to get you to talk about things you're not supposed to. You'll think your coworker is just a driver or just a mechanic, but (s)he is not. You'll think a private citizen at the gas station is asking you about the vehicle, but it's a spy. They'll note whether or not you're at a casual post-shift meeting. They'll note if you're not parked in the right parking spot. They're collecting info. Never break the rules or try to cut corners. They'll claim you don't fit into the culture of Waymo, and it's true.
