Pros
I really like working in healthcare technology. The things I'm doing will be beneficial to my career. I also like my coworkers and the casual dress code. I also like the open internet policy that trusts me to do my job rather than locks me out of everything.
Cons
-- The company can't both be a corporation and a one-room startup. -- Hyper-growth mode only hurts people. -- I feel expendable. -- This isn't my family, this is my job. -- The parking sucks for everyone but the three owners. -- Big offices for managers, fishbowl for everyone else. No privacy to even take a phone call. -- Stock options are magic beans Echoing someone else, I also don't trust the managers. I've not seen them live up to their word or treat people with fairness. I've witnessed the management bad mouth former employees and they discuss current employees problems with anyone. There's also a culture where "jokes" against others is tolerated. That makes me very uncomfortable and self conscious. I don't have a lot of faith in the expertise of our founders. The PT expert seems whimsical in how changes are approved and the owner seems almost uninterested in the product any longer. I'm terrified of the upcoming billing project since the preparation I've seen on other large projects leaves a lot to be desired.
