Pros

Free cereal, Soda, snacks. Cool game room.

Cons

Where to begin. This is all my opinion and my personal experience. The culture, at least in Tampa, was flat out scary. Favoritism was the worst you'll ever see. There were so many processes that wasted time and money. For instance writing manual test cases line by line, E.g. "Open a browser, go to this link, type this search, Hit go". A 30 minute test would take hours because of that tedium. And just think about the wasted payroll behind that. They will deny it I'm sure, but they would read chats and DM's of the people they didn't like. We saw it firsthand. Managers would treat you well if you humored them, they liked positive attention. If you had complaints, you were as good as fired. And on that topic, in Tampa they will fire anyone they want at any time without reason. Florida is a perfect state for them with its right to work laws. I am very sure there were clear workforce violations, but they made everyone sign an arbitration agreement (after accepting the job)....very convenient. If they suspected that you submitted a negative glassdoor review, they would fire you. It happened to people I know. The owner of the parent company, Clark, came to visit in Tampa. He held a town hall meeting where he bragged about how he liked that their company did not need an "HR" department. Of course they have HR to some degree, but they leave all of the employee relations up to the individual managers. As you can imagine, that is incredibly dangerous for the employees. Sometimes, Managers and employees do not get along well. The manager had the power to just fire you instead of working on a solution (again, the will deny this happens). They would bait new employees with promises of pay raises after x amount of time, but it would not happen. They loved the "well it was not in writing" game. I am sure that Webstaurantstore will reply to this review and try to say that this has all changed now, and things are better. Well first of all, The fact that these things EVER happened should be a huge red flag to potential employees. Second, I still keep in contact with some of my former colleges, and they have a very different story about the current state of employee relations. I don't think much has changed. I would be VERY cautious of this company. I had my lawyer review the Arbitration agreement they made us all sign after we were hired and he said that I should NOT sign it. But its that or lose your job...and this is AFTER you get hired and sign your initial paperwork (at least it was for me).
