Pros

Good benefits - health, 401k, snacks, lunches, etc Great people - some of the smartest and talented I've worked with Culture is held together by a shared love of the industry Lots of technologies to play with, some old and some shiny news ones Leader in our market space Real potential to be a great company

Cons

Large amount of turnover, from Exec level all the way down. Have watched several teams get wiped out. Job security here in general is very low. New leadership in a cycle of about every 6-8months. Always trying to change without giving time for those changes to take hold. Newest COO and CPO (there is not CTO...) do not engage or talk to the normal employees. They push down their changes through the VP's forcefully which in turn has created some morale issues recently. Annual raises, bonuses, or advancement do not exist. You may get a review but nothing will come from it. Make sure to get your starting salary large enough to cover your time here. Leadership is lacking in experience, motivation, and direction which flows down hill into the teams. Lack of unity amongst the teams towards a common goal. As a normal employee your voice will most likely not be heard.

Pros

I have nothing but good things to say. I would have stayed in my role, but my wife got a job that required us to move.

Cons

None. The company is well on track for success.

Pros

I’ve read many of the reviews here from both current and former employees, and while I respect everyone’s individual experience, I can only speak to my own. Weedmaps is filled with incredibly smart, passionate people who genuinely care about the industry and the company’s success. It is absolutely a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment, but much of that comes with the nature of the cannabis industry itself. During my interview process, the teams were very transparent about the startup culture, the pace of change, and the level of adaptability expected. If you thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy solving problems creatively, and are comfortable moving quickly, Weedmaps can be a great place to grow. If you prefer highly structured environments with slower change, it may not be the right fit for you.

Cons

One area where I do agree with some of the feedback shared in other reviews is around company-wide communication and visibility from leadership. I would appreciate more insight into what different teams across Weedmaps are working toward, as well as a clearer understanding of the company’s long-term vision and direction. That said, I also understand that open forums can sometimes become overly focused on negativity, which can make productive communication more difficult. I’d still love to see more consistent opportunities for transparent updates and alignment across the organization.
