Pros

Might* impress future employers who aren’t in tech or cannabis (Weedmaps has many burned bridges) Health insurance has no monthly premium, but coverage sucks. Free lunch, if you like it. Not healthy A sprinkling of fantastic co-workers

Cons

-Inadequate management -Trying to function like a cross-functional team in a functional team environment -No trust or respect for opinions of designers. -Too much segmentation between design departments - no accountability with design directors & execs - Sloppy creative, no support from CD - no design systems or creative expansion past initial WM branding - No HR support - terrible meeting structures -stuck in “groupthink” - Mix between top talent and inexperienced seasoned WM employees, impossible to get things done -Company in an identity crisis -company in financial crisis -revenue sources are drying up - no design or creative meetings -designers are segmented- no design critiques or reviews. No show and tell. No wall or whiteboard space, no creative processes. 1:1 sessions are useless - hush hush environment, keep your head down and mouth shut ...the list goes on Worst job in my adult life.

Pros

I have nothing but good things to say. I would have stayed in my role, but my wife got a job that required us to move.

Cons

None. The company is well on track for success.

Pros

I’ve read many of the reviews here from both current and former employees, and while I respect everyone’s individual experience, I can only speak to my own. Weedmaps is filled with incredibly smart, passionate people who genuinely care about the industry and the company’s success. It is absolutely a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment, but much of that comes with the nature of the cannabis industry itself. During my interview process, the teams were very transparent about the startup culture, the pace of change, and the level of adaptability expected. If you thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy solving problems creatively, and are comfortable moving quickly, Weedmaps can be a great place to grow. If you prefer highly structured environments with slower change, it may not be the right fit for you.

Cons

One area where I do agree with some of the feedback shared in other reviews is around company-wide communication and visibility from leadership. I would appreciate more insight into what different teams across Weedmaps are working toward, as well as a clearer understanding of the company’s long-term vision and direction. That said, I also understand that open forums can sometimes become overly focused on negativity, which can make productive communication more difficult. I’d still love to see more consistent opportunities for transparent updates and alignment across the organization.
