Pros

If you enjoy contact high, working with strung out crazy eyed people on a daily basis, this place is for you.

Cons

Sexual harassment, racism, homophobia, misogyny are blatantly tolerated from senior management. The HR department is ran by someone who lacks basic people skills, doesn’t know how to communicate, and has expressly stated that she doesn’t care how employees feel and that employee morale is not something she thinks about. If you’ve worked at any established company, let alone one that is publicly traded, you’ll realize quickly that she’s a complete moron within the first week of your employment. The chaos doesn’t end there. Next, the senior leadership team has been entirely removed and replaced by an incompetent group of egomaniacs. The CEO is not a CEO. He’s a child. He fires people based on how they look, if they think or dress differently than him, and judges employees constantly. He hides in his office and only comes out to check to see if people are in the office. Totally unqualified. The CEO also brought in about 5 or 6 of his high school buddies - middle aged cisgendered men that have egos, are “idea people” and do next to nothing except smoke weed and collect a pay check. If you went to college or have worked in what would be considered another corporate environment outside of Weedmaps, you’re automatically marked. You don’t compare to those that have been in the industry or part of the culture and so therefore any ideas or thoughts or suggestions you have will be set aside. Sales just laid off the majority of the team. The CEO elevated one of his friends to lead the team. She fired the other women in Sales leadership. Why? Because, she felt threatened. And she should have. She’s been at Weedmaps her entire career - knows nothing else. She’s rude. If she acted the way she does in the office at any other company, she’d be demoted in a heartbeat until she learned the basic foundational elements of Sales team building. There are so many other issues with this place. Just run. Don’t accept an offer. Don’t interview….just run. It’s honestly not worth it, and you’ll regret it. The employees I respect and learn from are already making moves to leave. This place is a non-starter.

Pros

I have nothing but good things to say. I would have stayed in my role, but my wife got a job that required us to move.

Cons

None. The company is well on track for success.

Pros

I’ve read many of the reviews here from both current and former employees, and while I respect everyone’s individual experience, I can only speak to my own. Weedmaps is filled with incredibly smart, passionate people who genuinely care about the industry and the company’s success. It is absolutely a fast-paced and constantly evolving environment, but much of that comes with the nature of the cannabis industry itself. During my interview process, the teams were very transparent about the startup culture, the pace of change, and the level of adaptability expected. If you thrive in dynamic environments, enjoy solving problems creatively, and are comfortable moving quickly, Weedmaps can be a great place to grow. If you prefer highly structured environments with slower change, it may not be the right fit for you.

Cons

One area where I do agree with some of the feedback shared in other reviews is around company-wide communication and visibility from leadership. I would appreciate more insight into what different teams across Weedmaps are working toward, as well as a clearer understanding of the company’s long-term vision and direction. That said, I also understand that open forums can sometimes become overly focused on negativity, which can make productive communication more difficult. I’d still love to see more consistent opportunities for transparent updates and alignment across the organization.
