Cons
The upper levels of management almost all have inflated egos and do not take any ownership of their problem spaces. No matter how much proof you have or how obvious it is that a process, data point, or something is broken, nobody will lift a finger to help you because again lack of ownership. Multiple team members being asked to not speak in front of C-suite because they're looking for any mistake to fire someone and our data is so inaccurate a mistake is bound to happen.( If this doesn't sound like a red flag I have no idea what else will.) Do not challenge or correct anyone above you. You will just be put onto the list for the next round of layoffs. The business brags about "traffic" when 50% of the traffic is just purchased low grade traffic from Pornhub where Weedmaps benefits from the lubed up misclicks of users and counts them as "engaged". This is the only company I have ever seen where the quality of data actively got worse over the years and tools where we understood the error margins were swapped with new providers because senior leadership got a nice pay day for it and the new tools are not even at 10% the capability of the old tools yet we turn off the tools that work.
