Pros

Flexible schedule for students Create bonds with coworkers Decent pay Not great for a career path, great for part time. There's always some kind of food in the break room, and they try to have fun days

Cons

No opportunity for advancement. Store managers do not communicate with one another, or department managers. Not enough hours, hours cut for no reason, and not enough employees to cover shifts and then managers complain about in-store conditions, not having enough people and working managers over their time. Then getting upset when anyone works overtime. Managers play favorites worse than anywhere else Iv'e worked. Horrible benefits for people with pre-existing conditions. Upper management talks down to associates, and treats them like property. Employee bathrooms are never kept up, there's always a blocked toilet, overflowing trash and mildew on sinks. Personal protection equipment is hard to find, the wrong size, or damaged. Slow with equipment requests, (a garbage can broke and we didn't receive a replacement for over 5 months) They try to sweep employee injury under the rug to keep their numbers up. They hold huddles to try and be transparent with employees, but just manage to confuse us with numbers we don't understand, ex. "We're up 7.8% from last year from an 8 with a 3.6% labor decrease on a 5." Exact quote. We don't know what that means... were high school/college students, we don't understand.

Pros

-Easiest retail management you can hold. -Very good work life balance if you run your business well. -Pay is good for effort required

Cons

-Senior leadership of operations is Wal-Mart -Field leadership tries to do the right thing, but nothing is progressed because of senior leadership. -Do not come to the company with ideas. Come work for this company if you like doing what you’re told with no independent thought.
