Pros

With some exceptions, everyone below the level of store management are some of the best people I’ve ever gotten to work with. Every department has a strong team with dependable people who will work as hard as possible to keep the store afloat, even on its worst days.

Cons

The Store Managers are, to be blunt, truly terrible at their jobs. There were four during the beginning of my employment, but two were transferred out and one was transferred in. The two who left were phenomenal to work for, as is Steven, the new Assistant Store Manager. However, Sean, the General Manager, and Sam, the other Assistant Store Manager, can be awful to work with more often than not, if you ever even see them. They constantly demand more work from their employees without seemingly ever being willing to lift a finger themselves, being content to hide in the office while the store proverbially goes up in flames, and will gladly blame this on the other employees other than themselves. Both constantly change the schedule of various departments after schedules have already been made for the upcoming weeks, leading to some of the worst short-staffing I have seen. Both are incredibly caustic toward and uncaring of their employees, leading to a rotating door of turnover for several departments, notably the Produce department, which had lacked a manager for months and had all but one Assistant Department manager quit as a result of their actions. Everyone I’ve spoken to agrees with the situation, but is scared to bring any of these issues up for fear of retaliation as the higher levels of company authority have not done anything even after numerous complaints.
