Pros
Culture is important to the company even if the model has suffered since the 2008 market meltdown. For a technologist, the company is a relatively early adopter of new technologies, and has a strong relationship with many technology companies. Still its business is managing money, and technology is merely the handmaiden. Despite rhetoric about the business/technology partnership, IT heads will roll in a turndown much faster than those of money managers. Benefits and total compensation is very good.
Cons
Too many have been there too long. Perry has never worked anywhere else of significance, and that is true of many other senior officers. Since this is a partnership and not a public company, the tendency to be "clubby" and protect the "club" above all is strong, tempered mostly by a deep commitment to customers.
