Pros

Good pay and PTO. Some good managers and teams. Hybrid schedule

Cons

Company has engaged in rolling small-scale layoffs for the last 5 years. Every tuesday after a payoff there will be layoffs somewhere in the organization. Under the current CEO's "leadership," they've shrunk from a high of 275k full-time employees to 210k now, and if anything that understates the amount of US job loss, as it does not account for contractor positions lost and jobs moved from US to overseas. Every manager is under immense pressure to bring down cost of labor. CEO recently went on the financial news and stated the C-suite's intention to continue shrinking the labor force, "through attrition as much as possible." The attrition thing is key because it means they are taking explicit measures to make working for Wells measurably worse for people, in the hopes of encouraging people to leave and therefore avoiding severance costs. Mostly this takes the form of intrusive, inflexible tracking of hours in office and computer activity (meaning mouse movements and application use). Even for exempt employees they've put rigid hours-in-office requirements in place, with monitoring. The environment of constant anxiety over job loss dominates every aspect of working for Wells. If you are not already locked in here, and you have better options, I would not accept a job with Wells Fargo until the incentives for management shift away from the constant focus on shrinking the labor force. Whatever salary or other benefit is being dangled in front of you, its not worth the anxiety involved in working here right now.

Pros

Benefits (but cost creeping up and coverage creeping down each year), Good Morale Both Management and Coworkers, and Honestly a Great Company.

Cons

Cross Selling is the only focus now, firing employees who are great at their job in every area that should matter but if the cross selling results are not meeting the ever ridiculous quota (which continues to rise) than you may not have a job next month. Expectation for customers to say yes to cross selling, leaving you with no real control of your job security. Stress!
