Pros

Training, that's about it!!

Cons

1st Con: They promise .33 cpm, what they actually pay is a joke, .27 c.p.m. And don't expect a pay raise after the 90 day evaluation period!! There making MILLIONS off the sweat of the OTR driver's brow!! 2nd con: Avoid the terminals like the plaque!! God forbid you need or even want to take a shower after a loooong 14 hr day, I saw a previous comment about how there clean, where & which terminal?? Every terminal I've ever been at, there disgusting & filthy dirty!! But yet again I'm a woman on the road, so cleanliness matters to me!! Unlike the men!! 3rd con: Breakdown is a complete joke!! Sat for over 12 hrs because the trailer tandems wouldn't move, had to explain 4 times to my fleet manager about it!! Sent in the Macro 6 different times, wasn't until a woman called me at 10:30 at night & explained to me that I somehow "fell through the cracks", & I sent the 1st macro that morning!! She also explained to me that the freight was more important than the driver's, raised a HUGE red flag for me!! And I thanked her for her honesty!! 4th con: The night & weekend fleet manager's are completely useless!! I'm currently under a load that the BOL says that this load is going to California, where do they send me, to no man's land in the middle of Minnesota!! To a dry bean factory of ALL thing's!! Even called a fleet manager & asked him, he said yes. And God forbid you need an empty trailer, they'll send you to places where they don't release them!! And then send you to drop yard's in the middle of the hood, & expect you to wait for one!! I told them NO!! And went back to the same truck stop that I was at the night before to shut down!! All I've got to say about ALL that, is I got paid for all those miles, thank GOD!! 5TH Con: Fleet manager's have NO idea what we go through!! "0" Zip Nada!! They have no idea & it can be VERY, VERY frustrating!! Especially when you're running hard every day, & expect them to "have your back", just wish they would get some "insight" of what we go through out here!! 6th Con: Werner Cares is a joke!! The only thing they care about is themselves!! That's just a slogan they use to reel you in, & I think it's sad. We make sacrifices every day, away from home for month's on end just to "make ends meet", pay our bill's, & help out our families, I miss spending quality time with my family.... I'm going to get my 6 month's in & moving on!! Because a company this BIG needs some REAL help!! You know the old saying, "The bigger they are, the HARDER they fall"!! And I don't want to be a part of a company that is more concerned about there freight, than there driver's!! How do you think it get's there?? Anyway, hope this review helps ALOT of people looking to get with Werner, & if you don't believe me, become a driver for them & find out "the hard way", & my favorite saying, "pain is your GREATEST teacher"!! Good luck to all!!

Pros

Great Experience, ( Exp. May Vary) This is a great job for those who are first setting foot into trucking. The orientation process is, well a process to say the least. I went in looking to do team driving and I got lucky with my partner. If you dont really have anyone waiting for you at home then this job is good. They give you plenty of opportunities to switch accounts and some have ups and downs. Some benefits are okay, and some company sponsored discounts are great. Depending on the dispatcher they can be great or on your butt, Werner does reimburse for schooling which is great but its monthly. Also you do have to train with their trainers and some are either great like mine but ive heard contrary.

Cons

Pay is absolute not adequate. You get locked to 3k a week so your pay is about $900-$1100 depending on the mileage, very rarely did I get anything above and the times I did it was reimbursment for schooling. Saftey is on our butt as they have front facing cameras. These cameras are at a detriment more than for your saftey. Some trainers are garbage, my partner had a trainer who did the bare minimum and she paid the price for it, I have to teach her how to back every now and again.
