Pros

This role gave me a clear understanding of what not to accept in a workplace moving forward. It reminded me how critical aligned leadership, accountability, and culture are to employee success—and how quickly things can fall apart in their absence. Despite the daily frustrations, I remained committed to supporting candidates and upholding a high standard of work, even when the surrounding environment made that difficult.

Cons

This is not a role for those seeking career development, strategic contribution, or leadership support. The environment was draining, disconnected, and at times, demoralizing. Outdated systems and inefficient processes were the norm. Despite having an ATS capable of tracking applicant data, manual spreadsheets and redundant reporting were still required across multiple platforms. This led to constant interruptions—phone calls, IMs, and repeated updates—making it nearly impossible to focus on meaningful, high-value work. Decision-making lacked structure and transparency. Advancement often appeared based on internal alliances rather than qualifications or performance, creating inconsistency and frustration across teams. Efforts to raise concerns or offer feedback were frequently met with silence, avoidance, or defensiveness. The culture favored self-preservation over dialogue, accountability, or trust. Those seeking clarity were often left isolated or dismissed. Culturally, the organization struggles with: • Outdated technology and manual workarounds • Inconsistent leadership and unclear advancement criteria • Poor communication and a lack of accountability • Resistance to feedback and transparency Despite nearly a century in business, these issues persist—undermining innovation, morale, and professional standards. In my career, I’ve never felt more overlooked, disrespected, or undermined. The level of gaslighting and unprofessional behavior was deeply disappointing, particularly within an organization of this size and reputation. ⸻ Advice to HR Professionals: • Bring your professionalism—but guard your peace. • Set boundaries and stick to the job scope. • Focus on execution, not immersion. • Stay composed, detached, and limit conversations to work. • Don’t seek connection or mentorship here • This is a transactional role. • Their chaos is not a reflection of your competence.

Pros

Great pay, easy work, plenty of hours.

Cons

Some of the people who work in the warehouses are lazy and they have the so called manager wrapped around their finger, So you end up doing their job and yours. The manager won’t do anything because he is just as lazy as the warehouse guy. And is scared of the consequences if he actually does his job and disciplines the sorry ———‘s So the real workers are the only ones that suffer. That very manager told me two weeks before becoming the manager over the shipping department that he didn’t think he would become the manager because he had already told the other managers that we have to stop over working our real workers to cover up for our non workers. I told him that night he would be the same way as soon as he got the position, And if he did that I would be the first to tell him. Point being: If you are a lazy piece of trash and have no self respect or work ethics this is the place for you. Bad thing is that you can not get in touch with anyone that has any interest in cleaning up (this particular terminal ) of a very good company.
