Pros

Tend to have long term employees that are probably Rockville MD based. Very conservative company that moves slowly but plans to be in existence for the long haul.

Cons

Very Rockville MD centric with limited to no incentive for those in MD to consider how to work with employees that are virtual. If an employee who was based in MD becomes a virtual employee, then it is much easier to be considered part of the Westat team. If you start as a virtual employee, you won't be included in many communications or considered viable to move to another position no matter what your credentials are. Even if quarterly travel back to MD was offered as an employment term, don't plan on this being the case.
