Pros
I have loved working at Westcoast over the past 2 years. When I first started, I was fairly sure I wouldn't make it to 3 months as I was from a totally different background. However, I had so much support from my team, senior management and from other areas of the business. The main pro I would say for Westcoast is Alex Tatham.. What a guy! He could inspire anyone to push themselves to be the best. The genuine care from all of the senior team is incredible. They are managing 100s of people but still know us by name, open doors and welcome conversations from all levels of the business. There isn't an 'us and them' feel here at all. I think that is rare from a company of this size. The owner Joe is also so easy to talk to!
Overall, my experience has been great. There have been bumps in the road but they are quickly ironed out. There will never be a perfect company and a perfect job, but this comes very close as a company. I have moved to a different part of the business and hope to have the same experience.
The HR manager is professional and caring, along with a great team, there is extra support should you need it. Great Mental Health support, understanding to those with children as well.
I would and have recommended my friends to Westcoast. If you want to feel welcome and part of a bigger family, this is a great company.
Cons
Not a con but there is a lack of benefits. Mat leave could be better for those wanting to grow their family.
