Pros
They gave me a second chance when no one else would and I am thankful for that and for constant employment through the pandemic. Many of the people, DMs, shop crew, office managers, etc are nice.
Cons
I am genuinely concerned about subtle retaliation for giving an honest review. Recruiters outright lie. Lied to about additional pay opportunities for Northeast Regional during orientation. On NER you will only receive additional pay (driver load/unload, NYC pay, layover pay, etc) if you do not make quota (5 loads or 1800 miles). If you make quota all additional pay goes toward minimum pay. Pay is on a sliding scale that seriously works out in the company's favor. There are no safety bonuses, rases, loyal bonuses/rases, or productivity bonuses. If you go do not pick up a load for more than 9 days (vacation, medical leave, etc.) You *will* be removed from active employment and will need to be reinstated. This means that you are not seen as having been continuously employed by the company during this time frame. As a new driver you are likely to get stuck with a POS truck, or worse a whole string of them. If gods forbid you have to take your truck into the shop it is not uncommon to get stuck there for a week or more. Night crew has almost no power and have been rendered superfluous. *Always* told wait until morning, ask your DM. This is not a company that on a whole respects families of values those who are family oriented. Payroll is hella shady. If they can find a way to cheat you out of pay they will. There is one recently settle out of court class action law suite against the company for fair wage violations. There is an active class action law suite for lease/owner ops about similar pay issues. These law suites would not exist if there were no reason for them to.
