Talented staff who truly care about students, education and making a difference in the community. Strong community support of the college and growing enrollments. Career programs closely aligned with community needs and job opportunities. Fair compensation and tremendous health insurance.
Cons
I suspect there is age bias in hiring - especially in IT, Recruiting & Student Services. I've known highly qualified people over 35 who applied but were never interviewed and the positions were filled by 20-somethings with no experience and sometimes no education in the area hired for (especially in IT). Top management micromanages horribly! Long-term employees operate from point of fear and it seems that's what the majority of the top managers want. Mindset of top management
