Pros
Seriously, though - working for Western Paper has taught me more about life and business than all of my education and previous years of work experience combined. Western only hires the smartest people, and it just so happens they are some of the best people I have ever worked with. We work in a project-based environment where every department is constantly working on new ideas generated by the employees. It's demanding work, but everyone ends up working on much larger projects than you would typically expect for a given role. The managers also spend a great deal of time trying to build career paths for their employees, and there are many internal promotions each year. It's a good place to learn, and grow, and I'm proud to have been a part of this company.
Cons
It's bloody hard work. Also, the business has been growing faster than the staffing levels, so there is often a sense of leanness on certain teams. They are fixing this by hiring quite a few people, but it takes a while to make a hire (probably because of some pretty rigorous standards). Also, you end up thinking about your toilet paper choices. A lot.
