Pros

Product-driven work environment: All employees, regardless of team, are expected to be product experts and act as stewards of our community. People feel very connected to Whatnot as a result. It feels like we're all working towards a common goal and your peers hold you accountable. Company-wide impact at all levels: Everyone has the opportunity to create lasting changes without a lot of red tape. Employees at all levels are open to feedback and suggestions. We have a culture of continuous improvement. Leadership: Our CEO, Co-Founder, and Leadership Team are low ego, humble, and passionate. Benefits: We have amazing comp and benefits. We also have company-wide holiday shutdowns to help people unplug.

Cons

I can't think of cons that feel particularly unique to Whatnot. We're experiencing some growing pains that are common at other startups. Rapid pace: We move very quickly at Whatnot, and several conflicting priorities will pop up throughout the day. It took some time for me to ramp up and adjust to our pace. Shifting priorities: This is the kind of place where no two days look alike. Sometimes, you have to quickly shift gears based on the needs of our business or teams. Change management: Due to our rapid pace, company-wide change management could be better. Changes made in one part of the company could be more proactively shared to other teams.

Strong culture, leadership really encourages feedback and listens/acts. I feel very supported by my manager and loyal to the company and the mission

Cons

Whatnot is all-consuming sometimes, but none of the work feels like a waste of time like at other companies

Pros

Good healthcare and good benefits.

Cons

Increasingly corporate culture Benefits slowly being rolled back every year Must use PTO for any holidays you want off as Ops agent/specialist Utter lack of leadership. Revolving door of managers because they refuse to promote internally for years Repetitive, dull work Toxic work culture. Very petty people in management who don’t accept anything but yes men Virtually no training established and hardly any SOPs written. What little there are of both are very poorly executed (aka people brand new to the work doing the training) No upward mobility whatsoever Arbitrary pay scales and performance reviews not necessarily aligned with performance or tenure. Disclaimer: experience entirely dependent on what team you’re on. Avoid T&R like the plague.
