Pros
A start up is what you make of it. There is a lot of complaints I see here from the part time workforce that I don't feel are an accurate representation of this company. Some days will be harder than others. Some days will seem super easy. There is no clear path to success other than working well with team members and trying to figure it out as you go. There are some brilliant minds who are a part of this team. The unknown is what makes this opportunity exciting compared to a big company corporate regular 9-5 style. If you have a strong belief in the product, company core values this will be an amazing job experience for you!
Cons
Not universal expectations of employees, each manager has their own unique style. Some managers are a tad more micromanaging than others. It's about having a good sit down both during the interview process and with weekly 1on1's with your manager to figure out what style they are and finding if there is a compromise of ideologies. Most are very open minded with a proper data driven conversation. At the end of the day, results speak for themselves and that's the ultimate goal here. Not one communication platform the company agrees on for communication. Some employees are totally anti-Slack and trying to remember everyone's personal preference when working with multiple departments/team members can be a tad exhausting at first.
