I was recruited based on more than 25 years of multifamily housing experience and long-standing industry relationships. After joining, I discovered a substantial portion of my responsibilities involved government and commercial laundry accounts, which were not my area of expertise and were not what I expected from the interview process. The company appeared to place greater emphasis on standardized account management than leveraging established customer relationships and industry networks. For professionals hired because of their market knowledge and connections, this may be frustrating.
