Pros

There are enough nurse managers to ensure that you are relieved in a timely manner. No stay over policy. The work load is not overwhelming at all.

Cons

Pay rates are inconsistent, not enough to meet Charlotte’s cost of living if you are single, and are not competitive. The insurance package is overpriced, you must find MDs in SC to save money because the insurance is BCBS of SC. The floor staff is consistently unprofessional and have terrible practices, largely due to there not being any standards set for them. Therefore is hard to correct staff that are wrongly caring for your patients or causing issues for your unit because they know nothing will be done and the expectations of them are low.
