Whole Foods Naturally a Mixed Bag - Marketing Associate Whole Foods Market Employee Review

Pros

Whole Foods is expanding operations and constantly opening new stores so there is a lot of opportunity for growth if you work for a product department. There is the opportunity for developing professional relationships with like minded and experienced peers, you also can gain a lot of knowledge of natural foods and health trends which can in turn improve your own life.

Cons

Whole Foods is not what it used to be. One of the core values is Team Member happiness but they are not putting their wallet where their mouth is. Certain positions are grossly overpaid and others seriously undervalued and not even competitive with other industries, such as marketing and graphic design. The management is increasingly becoming more creepy and corporate, and underperforming managers do not get fired!!

Pros

They offered good health insurance plans. They also had a good salary and position ladder.

Cons

Upper management and HR at this location are extremely ineffective at problem solving. If you are a worker here or plan to be, for your sake please document everything and have written and logged communication of incidents. Be careful with fictitious, unfair, and biased write ups. Ask management to be clear about communication and have them provide a written statement of their complaints and make sure they give you the opportunity to rectify mistakes that happen due to inadequate and inconsistent training. They will pull you upstairs with verbal accusations so that they can control the narrative. Management will work together to gaslight and get you fired if they do not like you. Management also has favorites that they look out for and turn a blind eye to. They are not effective at correcting behavior from team members, shift leads, etc.
