Pros

Flexibility Vacation Great co-workers Training covered

Cons

Blatant favoritism. Reps with gold territories are the bread and butter. During slow periods, upper management will tell you to talk to these reps to see 'what they do to earn business'. Waste of time. They will give you the same ideas and strategies you yourself already know. Fact is, their territory has a great demand and market compared to others. It's nonsense that these reps continue to get praise for sitting on a chair all day, receiving inbound calls and emails for activations above those that actually go out in the field and put in effort to find business. Especially during the slow periods. There is a high turnover rate for a reason. Upper Management also set unreasonable goals. Goals such as matching your prior year numbers, even though they stripped a major territory you had last year that you don't have now... I won't even get into the nonsense that is SPOC accounts. I encourage and recommend anyone during the hiring process to ask about your territory. Do your research. What the numbers were year after year as well as the success of the previous rep. Actually see if there is demand and potential in that market. Remember, you are just a number.

Appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback and apologies if that has been your experience. There are many factors that happen behind the scenes that go into to cutting territories to level the playing field. It is regionally structured so depending on your location, things can slow down due to weather constraints at times but we've also seen spikes in those areas during other times of the year as well, in which, the goals set should align with that. My advice would be to diversify your client base by getting into Vertical markets and maximize opportunities with National Accounts. Please feel free to reach out to me directly if you need some additional help or support as we recognize that our People are the ones that make it happen! Thanks again.

Once upon a time, I enjoyed it.

Cons

New CEO took over. He’s pretty out of touch. My former colleagues call me and ask me return on a weekly basis still because it’s going poorly for them. They constantly make business decisions that counter organic growth. Probably because the motivator is not organic growth. Sales are treated like call center employees and there’s a ton of hate from the WS/ MM merger that wasn’t dealt with. It is definitely an ivory tower. You’re inside of it or you are not. If you’re liked, you can do whatever you want. As long as it looks like you’re committed to the group. This means that you can’t share a dissenting opinion though. Two of the worst three managers I have ever seen were there. They target individuals who don’t go be them the metrics they want in safety or performance. HR’s goal is to protect the company. Share nothing with them, ever.
