Pros
Completely remote work environment and can work from pretty much anywhere.
Cons
The organization promotes a culture of flexibility and support during personal challenges; however, my experience did not reflect that commitment. During my contract, I needed to travel out of town due to the passing of my father and to assist my mother with the necessary arrangements. As a contractor, I did not receive bereavement leave, but I continued working throughout that time and maintained transparency about my circumstances. I was reassured that my family matters were the priority and that temporary flexibility was understood and supported. However, the day after I returned home — while continuing to fulfill my responsibilities — my contract was terminated. The handling of the situation felt lacking in empathy and consistency with the organization’s stated values. Individuals considering contract or full-time roles may want to carefully evaluate how personal life events are supported in practice, particularly in times of unforeseen hardship.
