Pros

Collegial environment with the vast majority of people pleasant to work with. In a senior-level support staff role, I am given the freedom to manage my responsibilities and resources and the latitude to make decisions regarding priorities and the most effective way to accomplish our objectives relating to business development. The core of our departmental team has been in place for several years which I feel is a testament to the positive overall experience we have had with the firm. Firm leadership has been responsive our recommendations and often recognizes the quality of our work and the effort we put into helping the firm grow. To be sure, the work is hard but satisfying. Each day brings new challenges which keeps it interesting and affords those who seek it, the opportunity to learn new skills or extend their exposure to areas beyond their comfort zone. Involvement in areas or projects that provide for professional development is encouraged. Environmentally, the offices are comfortable and in a beautiful setting with excellent amenities and support. I've enjoyed my years here and hope for many more.

Cons

As with any large organization, it can take time for new initiatives to be implemented. I sometimes takes persistence to affect change. There are limited vertical paths for advancement in most support departments.

Pros

Good coworkers and supervisors. Billable work environments tend to be the same in terms of monotony, so it helps to have a good team.

Cons

Billable hours aren't the most fun thing in the world. Huge caseload.

Pros

Great benefits, pay is okay. Partners are reasonable and nice.

Cons

Firm is misogynistic. They either drove someone to quit/fired really good talent and one of the only attorneys that was sweet to the staff after they took the side of male colleague in their interpersonal issue. Watched this person get bullied and firm did nothing. A lot of exclusive groups and mean girl behavior in chicago office it is really a shame
