Pros

Nice clean offices in White Plains. Large firm resources. In-house CLEs available with a large collection of videos in numerous practice areas. Some very nice and smart people. Helpful support staff. Compensation is in line with other ID firms.

Cons

Preface: this is a large firm with many different types of personalities. Your experience at this firm is largely contingent on who you work for and can make or break your overall experience. Overall the morale in the WP office is very low. People don't seem to socialize or talk. Many aggressive junior/contract partners. Unrealistic work load relative to compensation and work flow. Junior partners often take billable events from associates including routine conferences and depositions. Very hard to meet billable hours requirement with Junior partners covering appearances and events that should be handled by associates. Overall a negative atmosphere, lots of yelling, lots of attitude etc. Partners often perform "bed check" to make sure associates are in office at late hours and will berate associates for not being in the office at 7pm whether there is work to be done or not. In sum: good partners = good experience 3-4 stars; bad partners = maddening experience 2 stars. This place could and should be so much better. Its worth exploring if you receive an interview, but ask lots of questions about the people you will be working for and with. Do your homework.

Pros

Good coworkers and supervisors. Billable work environments tend to be the same in terms of monotony, so it helps to have a good team.

Cons

Billable hours aren't the most fun thing in the world. Huge caseload.
