Pros
Initially, the pros were working in a collaborative manner with other attorneys and management. Opportunity to grow was the mantra. Stable company, many attorneys take pride in their work and strive to excell.
Cons
Long hours, ever changing goals - generally at end of year when prior goals were set. Mixed statements of what goals are. Allege to encourage outside goal oriented interests, but then hold it against you. Company does not value or utilize talent. State they will mentor and encourage personal and professional growth - but at the end of the day, its the amount of money you bring in (not bill, as some senior attorneys will steal or delete your billing). No compassion for a returning employee after recent surgery. All about the bottom line. Lost many excellent employees/partners because of inconsistencies in management and goals. Money is bottom line - which would not be upsetting if management was supportive and provided appropriate training an guidance to attorney. No staff assistance. Long hours, impossible deadlines, and no rewards. Attorneys pay high costs for medical benefits - to offset the cost of benefits to staff. Not a game changer - but the benefits are extremely costly, with very high deductibles.
