Favoritism at its finest - Leasing Consultant Windsor Communities Employee Review

Pros

Higher on the pay range for leasing agents in the Denver area; clothing allowance so that you can dress per the dress code without going out of pocket; small rent discount; lots of free food and alcohol at events; and great benefits package.

Cons

If you are not Caucasian, you will NOT progress at this company. There is favoritism toward this specific race classification. Windsor is very old school in how they conduct business – including good, old-fashioned lack of diversity. In some instances, management is textbook racist. I myself am Caucasian; so please don’t think that I just misunderstood what was going on or that I’m angry about something that happened to me. The racism in this company is evident and deep-seeded. In addition to racism, if you are not friends with someone in management at this company, you will NOT progress. Talent, performance, and results hold no value at Windsor. During my short tenure, I was awarded the coveted “Top Leaser” three times, and my co-worker got it twice. This is a regional award, meaning we outperformed dozens of other Leasing Consultants. Both of us were passed over for a promotion in favor of an outside hire that was friends with a manager. There are many other cons I could list, but these are the ones that apply specifically to Windsor (other cons are general of working in property management). So if you’re White and know someone high up at Windsor, then best of luck in your new, prosperous career!

I am very sorry to hear this was your experience. We take diversity, inclusion and belonging very seriously at Windsor and strive to provide a professional and supportive work environment for all employees. We introduced new Behavioral Competencies this year to ensure we are clear across the company, for all roles, what our expectations are and how a person can succeed and advance. We are working with managers across the organization to ensure they understand and embody these competencies. Please reach out to our HR department at HR@gid.com so we can discuss your experience and better understand the specifics of where we can improve. Thank you.
