Pros

You don't need a degree to start career as Leasing Consultant, great upper management and co-workers. Amazing teamwork not just within one office, but with sister properties, divisional management as well as regional management. Communication with upper management is readily available, lots of engagement and encouragement. The benefits packages available are great and 401k matching. $500 bi-annual gift cards for work clothes. $75 for each lease. $1000 employee referral bonus. 20% rent discount for living on a Windsor property. Marketing flexibility; properties can be creative with marketing efforts. Lots of training for new hires, Manager in Training Programs, required classes for budgeting, marketing, sales, fair housing, etc. Many opportunities to create lasting impressions on customers and residents; move-in gifts, resident events, meeting new potential clients every day. Lots of recognition, shout-outs, rewards, competitions. Bi-annual rallies with gift cards, rallies and reward ceremonies (top performers, employees of the month). Very informative Intranet with all company details, requirements, directives, etc. Fitness reimbursement program. Tuition Reimbursement program after 1 year of employment. Lots of understanding and room for improvement, it's okay to make mistakes and lots of opportunities for growth

Cons

Working full hours on the weekend Lots of tech support issues and glitches with programs required to use (too many platforms that all have different pieces of information) Unfair standards when comparing properties (top leasers and lease-ups, 100 unit complexes vs. 400 unit complexes, lease-up properties have more opportunities than older properties) Old school dress code - dress shirt, matching suit (blazer & bottoms) Maintenance teams are often short-staffed and overworked, especially on the weekends
