Pros
Coworkers are hands down one of my favorite reasons of working at Windsor. They help make the day go by a little faster. 40% off employee discount at any Windsor and 50% off select days during Employee Appreciation Week. Lunch on Windsor select days during Employee Appreciation Week. A one time $10 pay out of lunch on Windsor during Extrava. Vacation time for Full-Time employees and medical/dental benefits. 401K for full-time employees.
Cons
Too much work for minimum pay. We are expected to do so much every shift and our pay as managers is very little over that of a stylist (~$1-1.50 difference). DM does not care about employees and just cares about numbers/money the company is making. There have been multiple days where employees have had to stay from opening to closing because of staffing issues. The DM doesn’t allow closing early because they want to try to make sales for the day even if it’s a super busy day and the employees have been there for 10 hours. Tries to bribe employees to stay longer or go help at another location with Windsor gift cards. Schedule changes every week. Hours vary each week. One week you can get 35-40 hours and the next 30-32. (Full-time). Part-time coworkers get scheduled 1-3 days a week (5hrs-18hrs/week). Not much room to grow within the company once you become manager. It becomes much harder to rise. Constantly dealing with customers being upset with the sizes; we have a lot of people that shop for medium, large and X-Large and often receive complaints that we only have small sizes. Larger sizes sell out the fastest (Medium-X-Large) and those are the ones that we receive the least amount of items in shipment. (Example: we’ll receive the same top 3 XS, 6 Smalls, 3 Mediums and 2 Large). Black out dates; there are several periods in the year where you are unable to request days off due to expected high traffic seasons (ex: Prom season; homecoming; winter formal, etc.) This year our black out period is 3 months long from mid-October until January.
