Pros

Option to work from home, continuing education reimbursement, gym reimbursement, pet insurance, happy hours with lots of alcohol

Cons

Woolpert's HR and upper management do not practice what they preach. Since being acquired by MSD, it has become a toxic culture of numbers. They've lost sight of the key contributor that got them where they are, the employee. HR and upper management say all the right things; be a personal, relational and contextual manager yet they don't actually follow through. They preach about diversity and inclusion, yet there is very little in all management levels. They claim to promote a healthy work/life balance, yet you're frowned upon if you work less than 50 hours/week. They claim to respect and value their high performers, yet these are the employees leaving due to the change of culture. They pride themselves for receiving the Great Place to Work title, yet they essentially brainwash employees in meetings to rate it as such. HR/upper management have held meetings telling employees to leave positive reviews to counter the negative ones (notice all the "Great Place to Work" reviews). They even ask employees to space the reviews out so it's not obvious (look at dates of reviews). They claim to be consistent and fair in decision making yet there is clearly a "white boys club" (look at org chart). Finally, employee utilization is viewed as a currency...your worth to the company. However, project managers will limit the hours employees can charge to their projects. This, again, is all about numbers looking good for upper management at the expense of the employee's true effort. Woolpert used to be a family oriented, fun and exciting company to work for. Unfortunately, due to the MSD acquisition, focus on growth/profits and lack of employee appreciation, Woolpert's culture continues down a death spiral of toxicity.

Woolpert upper management, HR, and MSD are aligned in our focus on making Woolpert a great place to work for everyone. We work tirelessly to create a positive culture with exceptional benefits and programs for all employees and appreciate the positive feedback from most of our employees that we are a great place to work. Woolpert employees are strong-minded and intelligent and we welcome their decisions of how to improve our company. We are committed to continuous improvement with our diversity and inclusion, leadership training, project management training, work life balance, and overall culture. We have been very successful with creating a great place to work for the majority of our employees, and are working to improve this even more. We are serious about business, we are focused on high performance, and always strive to balance that with a supportive culture.

Pros

Employees are passionate about their work and their customers. Flexibility is really great, the ability to work remotely when so many other companies are forcing people back to the office is a big plus. People are genuinely nice and want to help each other which is not something you find at every company.

Cons

A lot of change, but that is to be expected with how much the company is growing.

Pros

Flexibility, sense of ownership in your work, some great people

Cons

The bonus was below industry standard and is formulated per how well the entire company does. This isn’t fair that some of the company that doesn’t do well affects everyone else, especially when we can’t hire enough people to do the work.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear that flexibility, ownership, and the people you work with have been positive parts of your experience. We understand your concerns about the bonus structure and how company‑wide performance can impact individual teams differently. Your perspective is valuable, and we’re actively reviewing our overall total rewards. We also appreciate the reminder that different markets have different needs. As we grow, we’re committed to improving how we support teams in every location and remotely. Thank you for your honesty and for the work you do!
