Pros
Food - You won’t go hungry in this office. There is catered lunch every day, a lot of candy, high-end snacks, and over the top parties and celebrations. Benefits - They take care of their employees with generous benefits Especially for those with families, which is excellent! Talent - This company was able to put together some great talent. The people are creative and interesting, and my project teams have always included fun individuals to work with. Many of who come and then go; inevitable that this happens when talent management isn’t a priority.
Cons
It’s just okay. This organization has the potential to be one of the top companies to work for in NYC. Due to a few individuals and impractical beliefs, it will not rise to the branded image they portray [anytime soon] If you’re looking for career growth, your ideas heard, or an environment that merely values the hard work and dedication of employees this may not be the company to work for. Creativity/voice - If certain leaders like you, you’ll succeed and soar. One has to be careful not to get associated with poor work or doing something someone didn’t agree with, otherwise you’ll end up on the Black List. Then you’ll end up doing dull work, your work gets overlooked, or your opinions and thoughts are dismissed, or just get bashed. No real values - Leadership has a mix of materialistic and culture clashing values. There is big talk about “values,” but they are not documented anywhere. They are only spoken and lived by few leaders/individuals at the company, so actions are inconsistent with whatever values exist. HR - There isn’t a process or person in place that protects the employees. HR policies and interactions come off robotic and lack empathy. There's no method for feedback or growth unless you work in a particular department or for specific partners or managers. Growth is limited by the partner and projects you work on, and HR does nothing to ensure that employees are fairly assessed or even heard. Reviews and feedback are often forgotten or pushed back, and always put together last minute. Worklife balance - Sometimes you unnecessarily have to work weekeds or nights due to leadership’s choices on resourcing or straightforward decisions.
