Pros

There's good work-life balance, at the satellite office where I'm at, majority of the office empties out by 5PM.

Cons

- If you're NOT going to be based out of the Pleasanton HQ office, you're treated like a second-class citizen. There are no subsidized lunches, extremely few fun/social activities, and there's a lack of team members in the same location as you, making it feel isolating – yet you are forced to be in the office 50% of the time. There is literally no incentive to go into the office. - There is zero budget for employee morale which is ridiculous, Workday is absolutely the stingiest penny-pinching company I have ever worked at. Ever since joining, there have been no team meals, no team activities, nothing to help foster better working relationships. - There is also this silly concept called a "Workclub", think fun hobbies or sports like pickleball, coffee, board games, etc, where you can form a club and get a $50 USD (!!!) per member budget, capped at $1,500 a year, which is SUCH a joke. Realistically you host one event and your annual budget is already gone. It's not even worth the effort as you are also required to participate in volunteer events in order to maintain club eligibility. - I've heard from multiple people that it's impossible to get promoted here.

Pros

Workday is a truly values-driven company, and you can feel it every day. We’re in the middle of an exciting transformation to drive more innovation and speed, and while that has meant making some tough decisions, those decisions are always grounded in our core values. Employees and customers are consistently kept at the center, and there’s a real sense that doing what’s right guides how we operate and where we’re going as a company.

Cons

Decision-making can sometimes feel slow and unclear, as it’s not always obvious who has true ownership or final say. In a few areas, especially HR, leadership can feel more oriented around selling and positioning our products than around deep, hands-on practitioner experience, which occasionally creates a gap between strategy and the day-to-day needs of employees and managers.

Pros

Great culture at the peer to peer level. Excellent learning opportunities, good benefits and great name for resume.

Cons

Pretend to be transparent but a lot of smoke & mirrors. Significant cuts to comp plans & commissions that resulted in challenging pay cuts. While salaries were not reduced the OTE is no longer achievable and it’s a difference of thousands monthly, can’t even sell stock because it’s tanked. That being said, we’re disappointed in comp and stock but grateful to be employed because It’s no longer a matter of if you’ll be laid off but when.
