Pros

-Wonderful place to work with diverse colleagues all over the world -Terrific opportunities for training and development (online, face-to face) -WBG has been trying to improve career development process, transparency and accountability for lower grades (GA-GD)

Cons

-You have to been firm with your colleagues and supervisor (and yourself) in order to have a work-life balance that is somewhat healthy. It is expected that you work until the job is done (I usually don't qualify for overtime due to my title but STILL have to finish my work). COVID has made this worse

Pros

- Good benefits for staff: PTO, salary, 3-4 days in office, nice cafeteria...

Cons

- Highly hierarchical organization with many (many) layers of management. - Limited opportunities for advancement due to low turnover in senior leadership positions. - Retaliation? Yes, sir. Employees may be reluctant to challenge leadership or speak up. - Modernization and organizational change happen slowly, with a government-like pace. - Global initiatives often lack sufficient international perspective, as decisions are frequently driven by US-based VPs and managers who are perceived as having the final word. - Too many VPs and too few junior staff, resulting in heavy workloads for junior employees with limited recognition, compensation, or opportunities for career growth.
