Pros

Figure out the region or industry you're passionate about, join the corresponding team, and build your address book for a few years. Then move on. You will meet some fantastic colleagues and consultants from all over the world, this is the best you can get out of your day-to-day work at the Forum, in addition to direct access to partners and constituents. Learn from all of them. Join the Forum through the Global Leadership Fellow programme, you will gain exposure to world-class education while being employed. You can leave upon graduation. Nice premises, good food, free coffee.

Cons

Very little impact of the organization, too much arrogance. This entity organizes VIP events, nothing else. Absolutely no consideration nor reward for junior and mid-level staff. You're just the next one in line. Don't plan a career there, it's not the point. Try to find your niche within the organization linked to your passion or expertise, and give yourself a few years. Then go. Run away from projects branded as the next big thing by the Chairman, they're too unsustainable, badly managed, and subject to constant change, when they're not purely and simply cancelled over time. This organization suffers from an over-concentration of decision-making power in the hands of its founder and current Chairman (for more than 40 years). It prevents it from reforming and modernizing itself. It's one of its biggest long-term risk.

Pros

This organization is constantly evolving but I think generally in the right direction. Great place for those who strive in unstructured environments.

Cons

Hours can be long and you have to enjoy travel.

Pros

Great exposure to ideas, good broad experience that can be applied to other jobs

Cons

Lots of infighting at the top, leaks down to lower levels. The Forum makes poor hiring decisions and teams suffer.
