It is a university so it is a little more of a relaxed environment than most companies. The benefits are top-notch.
Cons
I must admit that I am disgruntled by my negative experiences working at Wright State. Hopefully your experience would be much better. It depends a lot on who you work for. Some of the departments are run very poorly whereas others are much better. Some of the professors are great while others are pretty bad. Most of the professors gain tenure (or leave if they fail to do so) so the ones who are bad can cause a lot of damage with no real consequences to themselves. Don't expect to make much money unless you are one of the elite few in certain upper administrative positions, or a faculty member who really knows how to play the game. It is very difficult to advance at Wright State University if your main concerns are to provide a good education to the students and conduct ethical research.
