Pros
Many of the faculty are great and easy to get along with. The job also offers a lot of autonomy and no one gets in the way of what you want to do.
Cons
The student population is very hard to work with. A majority of the international graduate students and a non-trivial number of the undergraduate students will do anything to cheat, plagiarize, and otherwise try to game the system to get a good grade without learning any material. This has been a consistent problem and one that the university has not addressed in any meaningful way. That gets frustrating fast. Additionally, the resources available to faculty have been shrinking quickly and everyone is expected to do much more with a lot less. The university has very few processes and procedures in place so getting anything done relies on a secretary or office staff who knows how to get things done. But most of all, the university is constantly in the news for its severe financial mismanagement problems and illegal activities of top administrators.
