Pros
The students and staff are amazing to with. The mission of the university aligns precisely with my values. Some departments offer great flexibility while others not so much.
Cons
The actions of the administration do not always align with the mission and Wright Way policies so it can be confusing to follow policies and procedures. The administration and Human Resources department do not stay up on market pay and many supervisors give a straight across-the-board raise to everyone in the department (but its been 1.5%-3% per year for the past 10 years so new hires will have a very hard time to get to market wages. Very little incentives for experience and getting a higher education once you are in the position but the free tuition gives you a chance to gain your degree and apply for higher paying jobs. You will not see an increase in pay for any degree you attain while in your current position though. So much for practicing what you value (a degree should get a small raise but not at Wright State).
