Pros
You get to gain experience working with cool equipment
Cons
Horrible leadership. No ethics. They fired many people a few months ago when the company failed to get contracts for their experimental new wafer type. They brought in a German CEO who I assume is only here to oversee the sale of the facility to the highest bidder. Rather than cornering the market with our new technology, we sold all our data to semiconductor equipment manufacturers, basically assuring there are no long term plans for this facility. They recently renovated the fab, I assume this is to fetch a higher price. I was put on a shift with people who started at the same time as me and nobody else, and the more experienced guys act as if we are supposed to have innate knowledge of the machinery we work on, which is niche even relative to other semiconductor facilities. I was forced to sign a paper after being hired that guaranteed I would never get a raise. Not to mention 90% of the people here are fat slobs.
