Pros

XPO is growing/ has grown VERY fast, so working here feels like working for a startup. It's chaotic and fast paced and challenging. That sounds like a con to some people, but if you're the right person for this job, that will sound like a pro to you. Every day is an adventure, and because everything is so chaotic, opportunity ABOUNDS. You can advance very quickly if you grasp onto something and get it done. If you have an entrepreneurial spirit but want the security of a corporate job, come to XPO. Your job can be crafted into anything you want it to be because everything here changes every day. You will never be bored. The compensation at XPO is very good and you can move up quickly. If you're ambitious and hungry, this is a great environment for you. The great thing about this job is that you can work all night or you can leave at five and all that matters is your work product. If you work quickly and effectively, you can move up without sacrificing work life balance. Further, if you wanted to sacrifice work life balance AND you work efficiently, you will be rewarded for that. It will not be a waste. That's one of the best things about being here. Merit MATTERS. Hard work pays off.

Cons

Because XPO has grown quickly, and a lot of that growth was via M&A, there is absolute chaos as far as systems and processes. There are tons of incompatible systems, and datasets that should be easily accessible in a company this size just don't exist in some cases. You have to be smart and capable enough to create your own datasets and processes out of disparate pieces of information. Our health insurance is not good but our compensation is. So, consider both if you look at working here. Your increased salary might come at the cost of paying that much more for insurance. We don't have a lot of diversity in practice. I don't perceive this as being intentional, but it does affect morale. Women are sometimes treated unfairly just because there are so many men making all the decisions. They aren't doing harm maliciously, and I always feel safe and respected around the men I work with, but overall, women do not have the same voice as men in this company. We have to be careful about how we 'play the game' as far as gaining and maintaining respect. We don't work well as a team for the most part. There are tons of systemic reasons for the departmental siloes, such as the aforementioned plethora of incompatible systems and datasets that stand in the way of passing information between departments. There are also some tone-at-the-top issues that lead people to believe we compete with other departments, not that we're one big team. We prune talent fairly often, so it can be a stressful environment. XPO is not afraid to fire people. This is both a pro and a con but more a con as an employee. For the company, I think this is good because we don't put up with dead weight for long. But, job security isn't a thing here. You EARN your job everyday.

Pros

I have enjoyed my time with XPO and appreciate the opportunities the company has provided for both personal and professional growth. The team environment is supportive, and I've had the chance to build strong relationships with coworkers and customers over the years. One of the things I value most is that hard work and dedication are recognized. Every day brings new challenges, which keeps the job interesting and allows me to continue learning. Leadership encourages employees to find solutions and work together to provide excellent customer service. Like any large company, there are busy periods and opportunities for improvement, but overall, XPO offers a solid career path, competitive benefits, and the chance to make a real impact. If you're someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment and is willing to put in the effort, XPO can be a rewarding place to build a career.

Cons

The transportation industry is constantly changing, so employees need to be adaptable and able to handle shifting priorities. Workloads can be demanding at times, but the teamwork and customer relationships make it rewarding
